Champion of the Diamond Throne
Champions of the Diamond Throne are the sworn-shields of the Land of the Diamond Throne and its Monarch. These Champions are often eventually knighted, and then join the ranks of the Order of the Diamond Throne. The laws, commands, and needs of the Diamond Throne generally dictate their actions. If they defy these strictures, they will lose their class abilities. Their goal is to defend the Lands of the Diamond Throne, seeking out enemies of the Queen and the Realm. Most often, you will find Champions of the Diamond Throne in the service of the local Lord Steward or on errant quests for Queen and Country. Giants and Sibeccai are the most common followers of this Cause, but members of every race who call the Lands of the Diamond Throne home have joined this cause. Noteworthy is the fact a Dracha has yet to take up the Cause.
Special: The Champion of the Diamond Throne has Gather Information and Sense Motive as class skills.
1st Level: Foes of the Throne (Ex): – +2 bonus to attack rolls against enemies of the Diamond Throne (this can include, but is not limited to, rohdin, harrid, and chorrim; the GM may allow a player to apply this bonus to dramojh, their created servants, and other open foes of the Diamond Throne.)
5th Level: Sworn-shield (Su): – The Vow a Champion of the Diamond Throne takes shields his mind from outside influences, granting a +6 circumstance bonus vs. mind-affecting spells and effects that would divert him from his duties.
10th Level: From Our Lady’s Herd (Ex): A Champion of the Diamond Throne gains a wild rodont as an animal companion. This wild rodont is a loyal companion that accompanies the Champion on her adventures as appropriate for its kind. The wild rodont is completely typical for its kind except for the benefits it gains as an animal companion. Use your Champion class level to determine the level of the increase in power the wild rodont receives. If a champion releases the rodont from service, she may gain a new one by performing a ceremony requiring 24 uninterrupted hours of meditation. This ceremony can also replace a rodont companion that has perished.
15th Level: Queen’s Quest (Sp) – The Champion can set a quest for herself or for others in further service to the Throne (subject to GM adjudication). The Champion gains the ability to cast Greater Oathbind once per day (see the Spell Treasury, if you do not have access to the spell treasury substitute Lesser Immunity).
20th Level: For the Queen! (Sp) –Gaining mystical authority from her sworn Vow, the Champion gains the ability to cast Inquisitor’s Fury once per day (see the Spell Treasury, if you do not have access to the Spell Treasury substitute Unstoppable Strikes).
25th Level: For the Diamond Throne! (Sp) – The Land and the Throne are one, and The Champion of the Diamond throne can Call upon this power. The Champion gains the ability to cast Call of the Diamond three times per day (see the Spell Treasury, if you do not have access to the Spell Treasury substitute Call Guardian 1/day).
Avatar's Allies: The Champion of the Diamond Throne’s Allies appear to be knightly Giants riding great rodonts. They inflict sonic damage rather than fire.
True Shield: The Champion of the Diamond Throne’s shield appears to be a disc of solid diamond. It grants the Champion 75% Fortification, and deflects all rays, lines, and cones that target or include the Champion in their area of effect. There is a 30% chance of reflecting any such effect back at the source; otherwise, it is merely negated.
True Weapon: The Champion of the Diamond Throne’s weapon appears to be made of diamond, refracting the soft white light it emits in a dazzling crystalline manner. It is a Bane (Aberration) Keen Violent Sonic weapon.
