To distinguish types of Diamond Throne material, Malhavoc Press and the Council of Magisters developed these definitions:
Canonical source materials - If it appears in a Malhavoc product (or the MonteCook.com or arcanaunearthed.com websites) it's official. If it appears in a product from another publisher with the AU logo, it's official (Sword & Sorcery, Mystic Eye, Fiery Dragon, Necromancer, etc.) If if appears in a published product without the logo, it's not official.
Approved for use with AU - If it appears on diamondthrone.com it's like the Star Wars expanded universe. That material is all cohesive and accepted by Lucasfilm, but George himself is free to do whatever he wants in the movies, even if it contradicts the expanded universe material.
Fan Material - Anything that we link to from diamondthrone.com is something that we think is cool. It can be contradicted by a Malhavoc Press or associated publisher's product and by publications on diamondthrone.com.
What does this mean? You can use any of this material in your home campaign. That's where the real fun is anyway. The above designations exist because there are always questions regarding creative control. We hope that this clarifies what's "official."
