What is the purpose of diamondthrone.com?

The diamondthrone.com website is a repository of material for Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed. Everything presented on the site is "Approved for use with AE." This means that it is all cohesive and accepted by the Council of Magisters, but Monte himself and other Malhavoc partners are free to do whatever they want in their own products, even if it contradicts the expanded material found here.

That also means that the material here is juried. The diamondthrone.com website is not simply a clearinghouse for random fan material. If you submit something, keep in mind that the Council may ask you to revise it one or more times, and even then it's possible your submission may not be accepted.

What are we looking for?

We are interested in sharing the various creative ways players and DM's are using Arcana Evolved. Whether that's new rules material (classes, feats, spells, etc.) or conversion ideas and integration with other d20-based games, we're looking for anything Arcana Evolved-related. If you are a player, consider this your opportunity to tell us about your character, adventures, or interesting tactics you've come up with.

If AE has inspired you in any way, we'd like to hear about it.

Keep in mind that we gladly accept brief articles. You do not have to consolidate ten months of adventures into an enormous mega-adventure, or write a 96-page treatise detailling every last Faen god. We typically break long articles into pieces anyhow, so sharing your idea is the important concern. We prefer brief, clearly-stated concepts over long, muddled submissions.

Also, please note that you must own any article you submit. We will not accept material copyrighted to someone else, including electronic versions of WotC products. Obscenities or warez are also unacceptable.

How do I submit?

Register here and you can post your contribution directly to the site for review. Our submissions email box has been closed, but you can always contact the council here or, better still, via the AE messageboards.

What happens after I submit a piece?

The Council will review it, and if it's acceptable, post it to the site. Our publishing cycle for new material is typically two to three weeks, so please be patient. If your submission is accepted, it will be posted in the appropriate area on diamondthrone.com.

Note that the Council does not edit other than to visually reformat for display (such as adding bold, italics, etc.) We will not alter the wording of your submission without your permission, so it's in your own best interest to proofread for spelling, grammar, and proper use of game mechanics. We highly recommend having your friends review your article before you submit it to the Council.

Readability trumps the rules - We are more likely to post a well-formatted, clearly-written article with borderline balance issues over a submission that is balanced but full of typos and grammatical errors.

Who retains rights to my material?

The short answer is: you do. All authors retain ownership of their articles. The Council of Magisters does not even request exclusivity, i.e. that authors publish only to diamondthrone.com (although we certainly will not complain if they do). We are happy to provide links back to referring sites as well as the author's own homepage.

Can I repost material I find at diamondthrone.com?

Not unless you are the original author. You may link to articles you find here, but if you are not the original author you cannot repost material anywhere -- not even the AU messageboards, a fan mailing list, etc.

Our Statement of Copyright

The creators/authors of the various elements of this site retain all rights to those creations, and may do whatever they wish with them, including reposting them elsewhere, submitting them to a magazine, to a publisher, etc. Participation in diamondthrone.com does not abridge these rights.
